Napoli, Italy - October 3-4, 2018

One day in Naples....what a mistake... We should have stayed much, much longer! Originally, Naples was planned as a day trip from our stay in the Amalfi. The more we researched it, the more we felt like that would be a mistake. Honestly, had we not already been doubling up on accommodations for one day, we would have stayed longer. We stayed in the old town. It was dirty, loud, non-stroller friendly and amazing. There is something happening in every inch of the city. People drive anywhere, anyhow they want. Communication happens via yelling mostly and it doesn't take you more than a few blocks to find something amazing to put in your mouth. Just one of our street food samplings....so cheap Arancini made of squid ink risotto and ragu center  We decided to do a tour of the underground. For a very reasonable price, you are taken to 3 sites in the old part of the city. First we were led into a subterranean aqueduct that has served as such but also as a dump...

The Amalfi Coast, Italy - September 23 - October 3, 2018

Greeting form the Amalfi coast. We are staying in a small town not far from Salerno called Maiori. Our "home" for the next week and a half is conveniently located across the street from a beautiful pebbled beach. Might I also add that the base of our building is a bar, where we get coffee every morning and an adult beverage some evenings. The boys have taken a liking to cappuccino foam, so we have to divert their attention with croissants. We've taken a liking to the ever satisfying Aperol Spritz. Meet the Aperol Spritz Our first full day here we decided to take the boys to the beach. We have now replaced eating sand with eating rocks....   For those not aware, the Amalfi Coast is a 50 mile stretch of coastline in the region of Campania. It's made up of 13 Municipalities, one of which is the ever popular "town" of Amalfi. The entire region is renown for it's lemon trees, which produce it's famous post meal digesti...

Firenze, Italy - September 21-23, 2018

****Luke Blogging*** Florence is quite possibly my favorite city to date in Italy. There is something about Florence that gives it a small town vibe with the amenities of the big city. It did not disappoint. While we only had two days here, they were lovely (minus the melt down at our dinner night...more on that later). The city of Florence is situated on the river Arno and is the capital of the Tuscany region of Italy.  It is home to Michelangelo's "David" in the Galleria dell A'ccademia , as well as many of the worlds greatest art exhibits in the Uffizi Gallery (sorry we didn't do any art viewing).  Da Vinci, Botticelli, and Dante Alighieri all once called the city home.  This place has a way of inspiring young people, and continues to do so to this day at the numerous renowned art schools in the city. The Cathedral was finished in 1436 with the Dome designed by Brunelleschi. There are many bridges that connect the old city, also a UNESCO wor...
