Guayaquil, Ecuador June 30-August 1, 2018
Made it to Guayaquil, Ecuador! The first stamp in the boys' passports. They were great on the flight from Fort Lauderdale. Arch slept most of it and Van flirted with all of the spanish women.
We shared a shrimp civiche. Mom got rice with shrimp and I had fish in garlic sauce with smashed fried plantains. Luke had the same but whithout the garlic sauce. It was accompanied by some of the most stellar hot sauce known to man.
Yesterday we hiked up to Faro Cerro Santa Anna. It's one of the oldest areas of Guayaquil having survived a fire in the 1800s that wiped out most of the original city. It also was home to a castle which guarded the city against pirate attacks, which is now commemorated by a pirate themed bar. We had a great 360 view of the city.
Now for the most important part....dinner. we ate at Picanteria la culata. It was delicious.

Now were off to the coast!
